Lawson team members and family members\u00a0 volunteered their time for a morning dedicated to environmental stewardship and community pride.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With gloves on and spirits high, participants collected litter, removed debris, and restored natural areas surrounding the community as part of an ongoing effort to protect the Elizabeth River and enhance the beauty of Norfolk\u2019s waterfront neighborhoods. In just a few hours the team removed more than a half ton of debris from the riverfront.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adding a bit of fun to the day\u2019s work were a few unexpected finds, including a quirky pile of mismatched shoes and a surprise appearance by a curious baby opossum.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Steve Lawson, Chairman of Lawson, shared his thoughts on the event:&nbsp;<br>\u201cEarth Day is a powerful reminder of our responsibility to care for the world around us.\u201d, said Lawson Chairman, Steve Lawson. \u201cThis event is a perfect example of how a small commitment contributes to a lasting impact.
