Participating in Lawson Lends A Hand has been one of the most meaningful aspects of my time with Lawson. It’s more than just a volunteering initiative – it’s a chance to connect with our community and support causes that truly matter. One organization that resonates deeply with me is NAMI of Coastal Virginia, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness. Through free support groups, educational programs, and advocacy efforts, NAMI provides a lifeline to thousands across Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, and surrounding areas. Supporting NAMI hits close to home for me. Like many others, I’ve experienced mental health challenges personally and within my family. Knowing that there’s a compassionate, accessible organization like NAMI offering peer-led support and evidence-based education gives me hope – not just for my loved ones, but for our entire community. I’m proud to work for a company that empowers us to give back in such a meaningful way, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to support a cause that aligns so closely with my own journey.

Being encouraged to participate in Lawson Lends A Hand has been incredibly meaningful for me. Lawson truly lives its values by encouraging employees to give back and by supporting programs that make a real difference. I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer with some amazing organizations like Special Olympics, Elizabeth River Project, Keep Norfolk Beautiful, Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and Eastern Shore, ForKids, and ViBe District. It’s inspiring to see how our collective efforts create a positive impact. I’m proud to work for an organization that not only invests in its people, but also in the communities where we live and work.

The Lawson Lends A Hand program has been a great experience for me. It’s rewarding to step outside my usual work routine, and it gives me a real sense of pride to be part of a company that truly supports making a difference in the community. The various volunteer opportunities have also given me a chance to connect with coworkers on a different level and to help people who genuinely appreciate it.

Giving back has always been important to me, and I appreciate that Lawson encourages community involvement through 16 hours of paid time off to volunteer. The Mobile Food Market at Market Heights is one of my favorite opportunities to serve – it allows me to help address food insecurity and connect with residents in meaningful ways that I normally wouldn’t in my role. I also enjoy volunteering at the Mayflower Marathon to support the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and Eastern Shore. It’s incredibly rewarding to see how even a few hours of our time can help ensure more families have food on their tables.
